Symbolism at the Musée Gustave Moreau

The late nineteenth century symbolist movement was pioneered by Gustave Moreau. He based his paintings on the imaginations of Symbolist artists and writers. The Musée Gustave Moreau is located in Paris and holds a treasury of art works by Moreau. These images appear dark and mythological. A fantasy world is displayed in dark green/ grey environments.
