Portraits of French Poets and Authors in Jacques Doucet’s Collection

French poets and authors are known for their writings of life, love, nature and politics! These portraits are all black and white photographs. Characteristics of their display are intensely theatrical. Many poses are staged such as that of French poet Paul Eluard and his wife Nusch Eluard. Relaxed, natural emotions are captured in the depiction of French author Andre Gide and fellow companions travelling in the USSR.
