This top 10 of images from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France displays cultural themes that are important to France’s national identity. In the list there is a portrait image of Albrecht Dürer, Picasso's poster for the peace movement, Van Gogh’s portrait of his doctor, ‘Doctor Paul Gachet’, a cartoon of Napoleon I and illustrations amongst famous French novels.
