Auguste Rodin was well known for his figurative sculptures, executed in a variety of mediums including smooth marble and clay. Clay creates quite an earthy feel to Rodin’s sculptures accentuating the thick layers and dents. Most of these images are mythological, one other represents an emblem of France.
