Hat Tricks workshop at Wilderness Festival Book here Friday 7.30 – 8.30pm / 7 August 2015
Heads up! Bridgeman Studio artist Holly Frean will be giving a workshop that aims to explore your conscience and unleash the spirit animal within. All you need are the provided tools and your boundless imagination in order to complete your transformation into a spectacular creature.
Dog, chicken, or perhaps unicorn… what’s your alter ego?
Holly Frean is a London-based artist who studied Architecture at Oxford Brookes University, as well as Fine Art at Camberwell Art School and City & Guilds of London School of Art. In 2012 she won the National Open Art Competition Painting Prize awarded by Grayson Perry, and she now exhibits internationally with the Rebecca Hossack Gallery.
She has received a wide range of media coverage, including appearing on BBC Radio 4 and a short BBC Arts film. She also has work in the private collections of notable figures such as the Duchess of Northumberland, fashion designer Paul Smith and comedians Russell Howard and Lee Evans.
Holly Frean’s work is full of playful glimpses into the lives of artists and the history of art. Her colourful paintings are infused with a lightness of statement and spirit. Often, she explores the possibilities of building up pictures from multiple images arranged in a formal grid, to form unique patterns.
Set inside a canvas marquee, the studio boasts a classroom space, exhibition shop and reception. From life drawing to graphic illustration, paper sculpture to collage, screen printing to lomography, Wilderness are working with contemporary partners to deliver art classes with a difference.
The aim is to not only expose the lay creative to new skills but to brush off the slightly middle-age dust associated with art classes, bringing a contemporary flavour. Read more
Wilderness Festival will take place this summer from 6 – 9 August in Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire.
