Bortolami Gallery is pleased to present a selection of works by Carla Accardi and Elisa Sighicelli. At the center of the exhibition is Accardi’s groundbreaking series of paintings on Sicofoil, a commercial plastic, which the artist first incorporated in the 1960s. Initially using the material for her sculptures and installations, Accardi later began fastening the material directly to stretcher bars, painting her signature calligraphic marks to achieve an interplay of spatial planes.
